Every once in a while butterfly pupae do not form just right, and you end up with wing distortions such as this one. You will notice that the left hand fore wing is only about 2/3 rds the size of the right hand fore wing. This specimen was netted from the wild, so was obviously able to fly quite well, if not a little lopsided.
